Legend has it that Hanuman Ji was on his way to the mountains to retrieve Sanjeevani Booti when Laxman Ji collapsed during the fight between Lord Rama and Ravana. While flying through the skies, Lord Hanuman noticed the Yaksha Rishi worshipping on this hill. Yaksha then changed to Yak, Yak to Yaku, Yaku to Jakhu, and so on for the hill. At the foot of Mount Jakhu, Lord Hanuman took a rest at this hill to get to know Sanjeevani Booti. Lord Hanuman’s footstep can still be seen on the hill. Lord Hanuman set out for the Drona mountain after receiving the Sanjeevani booti from the Yaksha sage and promising to visit Yaksha Rishi on his way back. The Kalanemi monster cut into Hanuman Ji’s travel time, so he turned around and took a shorter route. When he failed to show up, Yaksha Rishi was disappointed. Yaksha Rishi made an idol of Hanuman here and used it to build the temple to placate him. This idol was placed in the temple, and now people travel great distances to see Lord Hanuman.
Jakhoo Hill – Because it is surrounded by Alpine forests, snow-capped Himalayan mountains, and lush valleys, Jakhoo Hill is a popular place for tourists to go to get away from city life and relax. Here, you may lose hours just staring at the sky or taking pictures of the breathtaking surroundings. In this area, trekking is a fairly popular activity. It’s only 0.4 kilometres to Jakhoo Temple.

Best Time To Visit Jakhoo Temple
Whatever the time of year, travellers should consider visiting Shimla City. Yet from March to June, Shimla enjoys summer temperatures of 20 degrees Celsius. Travel is difficult during and after the rainy season in July because of the frequent downpours. However, the peaceful and beautiful winter season lasts from September to January. The temperature is very low, and there are sporadic snow showers.
How to reach Jakhu Temple Shimla
Shimla and the Jakhu Temple are easily accessible by road. You can order a taxi from any of the Shimla hotels where you’re staying. The cable car can see the ropeway from the top of the hill, with stunning views of the Himalayas. The breathtaking gondola ride transports you to an altitude of 8,054 feet above sea level. It only takes five to six minutes. One of the four main ropeway attractions in the state is the Jakhu Ropeway. There is also Timber Trail Ropeway in Solan, Naina Devi in Bilaspur, and Solang Nala in Rohtang. Six people can fit inside the cabin of a ropeway. Moreover, it is one of India’s safest ropeways. The ropeway ride provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.

The Himachal State Museum
The Himachal State Museum, or the Shimla State Museum, is a cultural institution in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
The museum was founded in 1974 in the home of Edwin Henry Hayter Collen and Edward FitzGerald Law, known as “Inverarm,” which served as the hot season residence of Lord William Beresford during the British Raj (and was often used for overflow guests at the Viceroy’s house in Shimla, Peterhoff, which was smaller). In the 1860s, it was expanded into a spacious Victorian mansion. After being purchased by and refurbished by the state of Himachal Pradesh for use as a museum in 1973.
